Frigo cheese’s story begins in Dolo, Italy, where in 1913 Pasquale and Louis Frigo were encouraged by their father, a fourth-generation cheese maker, to bring authentic, high-quality cheese to Italian immigrant communities in America who were missing the flavors of home.
That commitment to flavor, quality, and accessibility still defines Frigo today.

The brothers first established The Frigo Brothers Cheese Company in Illinois before relocating to Northeast Wisconsin in 1915 to access the rich milk that would allow them to consistently deliver high quality cheese. From the beginning, Frigo was built to serve real people with real meals, bringing great cheese into everyday cooking.
